A fellow designer and I were tapped to produce designs for ALT, a new agency in Seattle made up of former members of agencies such as Hydrogen. The general concept was to shy away from a typical overblown, Flash heavy site. Instead, we went for a netvibes style idea, with configurable layouts that could be maintained in ajax. Rather than go for a straight out netvibes square grid layout I opted to try for a newspaper style layout that would allow the left hand column to be ordered by user preference. In addition the two right hand columns could swap out content based on which button above the column was clicked, instead of reloading the page. |
